MELLOR VANCRAFT SUPPLY NEW RING & RIDE FLEET
30 March 2005

Mellor Vancraft have been working closely together with Gary Young from GMPTE to convert 10 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 411 Cdi vans for GMATL Ring & Ride into Accessible Minibuses.

Gary Young, Service Development Officer (Vehicles) GMPTE, Denise Gillingham -Finance, GMATL and Bernard Rowen - Head of Operations, at GMATL, joined the Mellor company directors, Geoff Hudson and Neil Crowther and Area Sales Manager Alison Prince for an onsite launch of the ten vehicles on Friday 11th March. GMATL is a charity and is responsible for the Ring & Ride service in the Greater Manchester area and GMPTA are the funding party.

The fleet of ten Ring & Ride minibuses are to be distributed into the 10 Metropolitan Districts of Greater Manchester to provide more accessible transport to residents who are unable to readily access other forms of public transport.

All vehicles feature a Webasto saloon heater, PLS Powermatic under-floor lift (rear door), seats and centre roof panel are matching, corner grab handles on seats and AVS kick-out step at side entrance door.

Our first photo shows all the vehicles lined up on the front of our Westhoughton premises and the second photo shows Alison Prince handing over the keys to GMATL's Head of Operations, Bernard Rowan.
